Pokémon cards · Priced Tue and Fri

The card market, kept like a set of indexes.

Each index is one copy of every card or box in a group, priced from the latest real eBay sale. Prices get a full pass every Tuesday and Friday. Picks are weekly. The index level stays at 1,000 until the first monthly close on Nov 6. Follow the ones that match what you collect.

The indexes

Weekly note

A short email on the indexes you follow, sent from [email protected]. Not financial advice. Following an index does not add you. For anything else, write to [email protected].

How I put these together

The same rules on every index, so a full-art set and a stack of sealed boxes can sit next to each other.

Pricing

I price each item at its most recent sale in the grade or condition that index uses, and I link the sale. Next to it is the average of the last five, so you can see whether that latest sale was typical. A sale under half the middle of those five is usually damaged, mislabeled, or the wrong card, so I leave it out.

Weighting

Each index holds one copy of every item, so a pricier card simply takes a larger share of the basket. That share is the weight in the table.

Index level

Every index starts at 1,000 on launch day. If it later reads 1,100, the basket is worth 10% more than it was then.
